Mission Bean

for the Greater Good.

On May 5, 2008, we launched Mission Bean Coffee, a new venture selling freshly roasted, premium coffee to benefit People's City Mission and its many programs and services. What makes this coffee unique is what is accomplished in the purchase. Buying one bag of coffee provides a nutritious meal to a homeless person. So you are actually consuming for two people - yourself and someone else in need.

Bailey Lauerman, a local advertising firm in Lincoln, NE. joined us in this effort. Bailey’s other clients include firms like Disney, Pepsi, Union Pacific, and the Smithsonian. They designed an incredible coffee bag using letters from some of our guests. This was supported with outstanding POP materials. But the most amazing this is, they did it for free.

Mission Bean won the gold Effie in the category of Goodworks Non-Profits, and was nominated for "best of the best." We didn’t win, but our competitors included Apple Computers, Ford Motor Company, Kraft, Hyundia and Miller High Life. We were honored to be in such company!

Mission Bean Button Mission Bean coffee is now available on the Internet and comes in four delicious flavors – regular, dark roast, decaf and hazelnut. It is a premium cup of coffee and costs only $ 8 a bag. We invite you to join us in changing a life with every cup that you drink. We call it "great coffee for the greater good!"
