VSP Vision Care is at the Mission today giving free eye exams and glasses to low-income individuals, at-risk students and guests at the shelter. As one woman was choosing her frames she told me, "I've never picked out my own pair before. I've never been able to see them."
She looked great in her final choice of thick burgundy frames by Calvin Klein.

PCM voted favorite local charity
The Mission is Voted the Favorite Local Charity at Hy-Vee's "Wine and Food Experience".
On February 3, Hy-Vee hosted their “Wine and Food Experience” event at the Cornhusker Hotel. Guests were treated to food and wine, as well as a silent auction. Each attendee also had the opportunity to cast a vote for their favorite local charity, which would be awarded a $2,500 donation from Hy-Vee.
We're very excited to announce that People's City Mission was the charity organization with the most votes. Scott, one of the local store managers, presented the check to Pastor Tom himself. Thank you, Hy-Vee, for your generosity (and thank you to all who cast their votes for the Mission)!

Max Tan Partners with PCM
In February of 2011, Max Tan partnered with the People’s City Mission to raise $2,871! This February, with your help, we hope to raise even more!
Every Thursday in February, Max Tan is offering "Money for the Mission" $2 tans, with all proceeds going towards the Mission to help us continue to provide for the homeless and near homeless in our community. Give back and get a great tan this February!
