Volunteer with Camp EDEFY this summer

How would you like to help make a difference in a child’s life this summer? We are currently looking for help in all areas of our summer youth program, CAMP E.D.E.F.Y. We are looking for groups or individuals to come and spend a few days, a week, or a whole summer with our school age youth. We are also looking for 2 lead interns who will oversee, implement, and run our daily youth program. This can be used for college credit and we will offer room and board if so desired.

Camp E.D.E.F.Y. stands for Encouragement, Discipleship, Evangelism and Fellowship for Youth. We will strive to provide a fun, safe and educational summer program. In the past we have led bible stories, crafts, basketball games, cultural outings, horseback riding, swimming, and much more! The program will run from early June to early August.

Many of the children at Peoples City Mission, who range in age from toddler to high school, are at-risk and socially or economically disadvantaged. These children come from broken homes and know the sting of abuse. Our summer program gives these children the chance to have fun, escape their stressful situations and a give a chance to learn and grow. For the volunteer/intern it is a life changing experience in which you will grow in your faith and definitely change lives!

If you would like to volunteer on a short term basis, have ideas of your own, or would like more info about our Summer Program Lead Intern positions please contact Kyle Winchell at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 402-475-1303.

1011 Reports: Students Skip School to Serve Community

The senior class at Norris High School turned their Senior Skip Day into Senior Serve Day. More than 120 students came to the Mission on April 17, ready to serve. The seniors wanted to set a good example for other students by choosing to do something positive for others.

We were thrilled to have these students come and serve at the Mission. Thank you for being so generous with your time!

Photos from the Mission

4th, 5th and 6th graders from Bennet / Palmyra school district brought a bus-full of supplies for our guests at the Mission! It took quite a few trips up the steps to get it all unloaded!
